When thinking about location for a new promo video for a rock band, where do you go … Las Vegas … London … Mexico? How about a nice run down workshop in Bingley. This rock promo video uses silhouette and grungy backgrounds to great effect and echoes the tone of ‘Sick Like You’ by rock band Dark Fighter.
Inspiration for this video came from stunning high end movie posters that give a sense of story. ‘Sweet Elixir’ by rock band Dark Fighter was mainly shot in studio and also features road footage shot in and around Bradford, Baildon and Leeds. This is something a little different within the stoner rock video genre.
‘Monsters by Dark Fighter looks as though it was shot in a suitably hot desert environment, but was actually shot in the North of England with some creative colour changes. Nevertheless, the suitably stoner rock image that the band wanted to reflect didn’t require a plane ticket on this occasion.
Folk music promo videos can be uplifting, rich in colour or dark and brooding, which is where ‘Witches’ by Lochs band comes in. Dark folk themes of abandonment, blame and otherness are presented bleakly and beautifully.
